Here We Go!

I had big plans for 2012.  Big plans.  If you have a window nearby, please help me throw those plans out that window.

Just kidding (at least sort of).  I still plan to post about some more important subjects, including resource guarding, multi dog stuff, raw diet stuff...  But this week I'm a little busy.  Tomorrow I'm picking up Scooter for 10 days of fun at my house!

Then on Friday I'm picking up Hannah to join us for the weekend.  Have I mentioned Hannah?  It took her about 2 weeks to muster up the courage to get out from under the kitchen table when they adopted her.  She still won't go for walks, she panics when you try to get her in the car, and sudden movements send her running.

At least she loves Parker.

I'll also be watching Murphy again next week.

Yeah, it's gonna be fun.  However, the new year has filled me with inspiration to train my dogs.  I'm shocked- I hate training my dogs.  I'd rather have people pay me to train their little devils than pick up a clicker and work my own devils.  But Parker is already learning a fun little trick that involves perching on my leg and Skye is perfecting her dramatic collapse when I blow air at her.  We're having fun, of all ridiculous things.

Parker isn't having fun.  He takes training very seriously.

And if you haven't heard, January is National Train Your Dog Month.  So do it.  Or they'll know.

  2. Haha, I'd love to see the dramatic collapse! Elli and I have been working on her play dead routine: she gets shot, high pitch barks, then dies. :D

  4. Ut oh. Guess I better get to training. But, I'm with you. I'd rather train someone else's pups than my own! Happy New Year!

  5. I know what you mean - I feel so guilty sometimes that I don't train my own dogs enough. Maybe this will get me off my lazy bum and do something already!!

  7. I've been trying to think of a new trick for my kids. Our gal was standing up on her two back legs randomly on her own for treats-- I was like WOW, okay, let's make that a trick! But I had no idea how to TEACH that since it was spontaneous on her part.
Train your dog month... okay sounds like I have some things to learn! :)
