Jump for Joy!

Well, at least bouncy up and down a little for joy.  Skye came home Monday morning and was able to do many things that she didn't have the strength for on Sunday.  Like give kisses, jump out of the car, and eat.  All in all I'd say she's in much better shape than before.  We have some strong antibiotics and a theory, but that's about it as far as progress in solving the mystery.

Here's what we know:

Skye lost coordination/sort of passed out about a month ago, and had very pale gums for about 3 hours after.

A week later, her bloodwork showed an abnormally high BUN kidney level, which indicates GI bleeding (among other things)

Five days after that, her bloodwork showed a normal BUN, but a high white cell count, which we took to mean her body healed the bleed on its own and was working overtime.

One week later, Skye began yelping in pain with even the slightest movement.  She had done it a few times before, but never constantly.  The next day we picked up Tramadol from the vet for the pain and potential inflammation (we guessed in her neck).

Four days go by, and Skye spends a day not eating or drinking, with a major belly ache.  I didn't give her the Tramadol, since she hadn't eaten.  She becomes more and more lathargic but aggitated, and vomits bile and white foam about every hour over night.

The next morning (Easter) she went outside and deficated a large amount of blood, and off to the hospital we went.

Her x-rays were normal, so she didn't eat anything.  Her BUN was normal.  Her white cell count was very low.

My vet and I are both leaning towards Addison's Disease, but other theories would be appreciated!  Either way, we'll be testing for Addison's next week or so, but at least my girl is home and happy.  She was even harassing Parker this morning- so she's definitely back on her feet!

Yippee!!
