Yesterday I met up downtown with F, who drove up from Texas to spend a month of her summer break in the area (she's a teacher). Before leaving Texas, she adopted this adorable bundle of fluff, Bruno.
He is a 6-8 month old Aussie/spaniel etc. with the cutest ears I've ever seen! For a young dog, he is very laid back. Sure, he tried to eat every piece of trash he came across, but he never harassed Parker and Skye to play with him. That automatically won him some points with Parker.
Like Ms. M and Mr. B over at Two Pitties in the City, I typically put a bandana on Skye to make her more approachable. I have to say, she makes red white and blue look good.
Skye has actually come up with her own technique to get more loving from the crowds of people. Sure, she still got a few people who started to approach the fluffy dogs, then turned in another direction abruptly when they noticed the third dog, but all in all I'd say her method is a winner. I call it "the loving little lap dog"...
It was a beautiful day, and everywhere we went there were people coming over to pet the pups and remark on how well behaved they were. I'd say it was an amazing outing, with only a single mishap... Parker refused to look at the camera for our annual picture on the boardwalk. I let it slide, but only because I was eating ice cream.
Have a happy 4th of July everyone!!!

and obviously I meant lap DOG, not fog. oy.
ReplyDeleteoh, that last pic is beautiful with them in front of that blue-blue water. it looks like they are having such a great time.
ReplyDeleteyou know i happen to find all dogs approachable, as long as they aren't growling at me-i'd probably approach skye if i saw her. i normally ask the owner of dogs though if it's okay for me to pet them. since i've had yuki, people see a cute white fluffy dog and people, especially kids will run up to her all crazy and hyper and try petting her. yuki gets really nervous around kids, i don't mind kids petting her, but i have to get her prapared with treats and making her sit. happy 4th!
