Happy Holidays everyone!
Parker, Skye, and I will be going here, there, and everywhere over this weekend. Before the fun begins, I wanted to be sure and wish all our blog pals a happy holiday from us to you. When I return to the blogging world, I'm going to step up my game when it comes to my posts. Sure there will still be an overwhelming number of pictures of my dogs, and plenty of pointless posts about what we did today, but I'll throw in a few more serious topics.
Right now I have a few ideas I'm bouncing around, including:
How to switch to a raw diet without going broke
The training plan I use when bringing a new dog into the house
How to minimize jealousy between dogs in order to maximize their bond
The steps I took to make my dogs reliable off leash
Soooo.... any other ideas? Anything you want this highly experienced dog trainer to write about? (hint- that was sarcasm. I've only been training dogs professionally for 1.5ish years and working with them for 6 years) Or of those topics, which are you most interested in seeing first? I generally let the wind be my guide and write whatever I happen to think about at the time. But now I'm cracking down on... myself...
The minimizing jealousy post is of particular interest to me...cough, cough...for no reason at all, just curious! ;) Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteHey! About that raw diet thing. We eat 1/4 of our foodables in the Primal raw burgers because momma didn't want the mess and bother and expense of a 100% raw diet. Even that little bit made a big difference for my tummy and PeeWee's furs. For breakfast we have half Primal and half kibbles and then just regular kibbles for suppertime.

Hi! I'd love to read more about resource guarding and any experience you have with it. We had an unfortunate experience at the park yesterday, and I'm feeling lonely and frustrated. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteThat photo is too cute! I'd like to hear more about how to get people to not approach our dogs in a nice way. Since we have to go for daily walks twice a day, I don't want our dogs to be conditioned that this is time to play and meet other dogs. I try and cross the street, but sometimes people literally follow us. I say "they're in training" which usually results in...Oh, it's ok...my dog's friendly. Or I just get mad which results in pitbulls looking bad. Is there a one sentence that works if I just want to be left alone?
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to all of you! :D
